Sip & Swim Benefit Recap

On a gorgeous Sunday afternoon, friends and supporters gathered at the home of Karen and Michael to celebrate community, creativity, and connection. We shared stories, laughter, and inspiration—plus a dip in the pool!

Our special guest, Sergeant Megan Ferri from the Ulster County Jail, introduced us to IGNITE, a groundbreaking new program that creates a more communal and supportive living environment for incarcerated individuals. MovingPotential is honored to be part of it—Lea continues teaching yoga to the women, and soon Huw will bring yoga to the men’s IGNITE unit.

We were moved by Zoe Paolantonio’s powerful prose poem inspired by her teaching experiences at the Columbia County Jail, and by heartfelt reflections from Lea (Ulster County) and Leah Gooch (Greene Correctional). Each voice reminded us why this work matters.
