Our Goals
To provide trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness practices as a means of self-empowerment and self-rehabilitation.
To develop the self-awareness, self-worth, empathy, and compassion in those we serve that leads to positive personal and pro-social choices.
To foster a more peaceful and humane incarceration environment for incarcerated people and staff, and reduce the physical, mental, and emotional impacts and healthcare costs associated with stress and unresolved trauma.
To continue offering training programs for best-practices in the rationale, practicalities, and methodology for the teachers in our program, and those in the field interested in trauma-informed and mindfulness-based yoga and meditation service work.
To distribute educational materials (books, and audio/video programs) to support personal yoga and mindfulness practices to men, women and young people in prison and recovery centers.
To continue our yoga teacher training program in Meadow Run, a mandated recovery centers to empower women to be certified to teach yoga.
To conduct research and gather evidence-based statistics to educate organizations so they allocate funds in their budgets for these programs, and to apply for state and federal grants.
